The future of clean energy has never looked brighter. An increasing number of organizations are shifting their focus on sustainability, pledging to cut down on their carbon footprint and reduce reliance on fossil fuels. The global solar energy market is expected to reach $223.5 billion by 2026, a staggering growth of 20.5 percent CAGR since 2018. Overall, the world’s capacity to generate electricity from solar, wind, and other sources is pacing at an unprecedented rate.

It’s a hopeful development for the current generation and posterity. This global shift, however, toward renewable energy sources has opened a few cans of worms. For instance, traditional and expensive energy storage devices are pretty inefficient. Organizations need an alternative to effectively store energy and seamlessly transport the same. This is where Dresden, Germanybased AMBARtec works its magic. “Our Hydrogen-based energy storage solution is compact, efficient, sustainable, safe, and cost-effective,” says Matthias Rudloff, CEO of AMBARtec.

Today, various companies use electric batteries that take up more space and fall short in fulfilling large volume needs of electricity and power (or “are often based on critical elements like Lithium"). Other hydrogenbased technologies are available in the market, but are very costly and are lacking efficiency. Through its compact and efficient hydrogen-based storage solution, AMBARtec effectively addresses this issue. To add more perspective, AMBARtec is two times more efficient and requires 50 percent less space than conventional systems.

Our Hydrogen-based energy storage solution is compact, efficient, sustainable, safe, and cost-effective

The application of hydrogen-based storage devices is not new. However, most of them result in energy loss when electrical energy is converted into hydrogen and vice-versa. AMBARtec’s unique hydrogen solution doubles the efficiency for long-term storage power. Another challenge with traditional storage devices is they use expensive material for manufacturing that leaves a carbon footprint. AMBARtec takes immense pride in being sustainable and using recyclable materials for its products.
Since hydrogen is an inflammable gas, hydrogen storage devices have to be handled carefully. For AMBARtec’s customers, however, the company has come up with an innovative solution to address this issue. It uses a wellknown reverse chemical formula to convert hydrogen into iron and water. This removes any possibility of hydrogen leakage from the storage chamber.

AMBARtec has earned numerous use cases for its holistic hydrogen storage device. One such client was using a solar power and biogas to generate heat and power for lodging purposes, which requires less capital expenditure but high operational expenditure. However, when they integrate AMBARtec’s hydrogen solution, they can leverage an independent heating and power supply system that reduces their operational capital by manifold.

By providing compact, efficient, sustainable, safe, and cost-effective solutions, AMBARtec is attempting to open a new chapter in energy storage devices. It’s a complete package that has eluded organizations for many years. So far, the company has perfected this technology for regional decentralized transportation and applications. They are also working on a hydrogen storage solution that can sustain international transit by creating smaller, modular containers that can be easily stored on a ship and are easy to manage.

There is no question that hydrogen storage solutions will play a key role in realizing the dream of a greener future. Working behind the curtain will be companies like AMBARtec, which will use innovation and experience to build a cleaner world for all.
